Pain.

Love this.
It's something I've always wanted to say, but never found the words.

"People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all.
People talk about how great love is, but that's bull.
Love hurts.
Feelings are disturbing.
People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous.
How can they deal with love if they're afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up.
People try to hide their pain. But they're wrong.
Pain is something to carry, like a radio.
You feel your strength in the experience of pain.
It's all in how you carry it. That's what matters.
Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you.
Your own reality.
If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you're letting society destroy your reality.
You should stand up for your right to feel your pain."

Well said, Sir.

*** POST EDIT***
Okay, let me clarify my thoughts on this quote.

First, I really do believe love is great, but not in the same way I did when I was 18. It's hard, but great all at the same time. I just think the world's perception of love is skewed.
And second,
the main reason I love this quote is because I've been told one too many times, "You shouldn't feel that way." or "You have no reason to feel that way." or "Get over it." or something of that nature. MY feelings are MY reality. They make me who I am. So I'm saying I'm not afraid of telling the world I am happy, in pain, sad, mad, or whatever! I can't begin to tell you how many times I've contemplated emotions and how intricately they are connected with our spiritual beings. I am saying I'm not afraid of myself or my emotions or my reality. I love myself for all the crazy emotions I have. I am someone who feels things, believes things, and

my friends,

I am not mediocre.

I have been awakened. And I believe I am carrying [it] quite well.

I agree with that to an extent. We're all allowed to feel pain in order to grow, but at the same time, the longer you hold onto pain the more it can hold you back from the growth that would come in gradually moving on. And...love really is great, that's not bull. Yes it hurts every once in a while, but without the bitter we could not know the sweet. Love is what gives life substance and pain is what deepens understanding. You can't have one without the other.

Hi.. Decided to follow your blog! Just wanna say you're gorgeous and I know exactly how you feel about THAT pain. I was watching an interview on TV awhile back and an actress was sharing how people expect that after 3 months when they ask you how you are doing, they never really quite want to hear that you're still not doing well. They think you should get over it. but the truth is it will take a long while. You climb up a little and sometimes you just slide back down. I hope you are feeling better today:)

Wow. Lovely.
"my feelings are my reality," how true. I love the way you say things. I can totally relate.

Please tell me you've seen him before at one of his shows?! he is truly AMAZING. bad days can always be cured by a special song called: cross my heart.

What a wonderful post and quote! I love how you expressed yourself and stayed positive at the same time. I try to do the same on my blog. Actually, my last post was on crying and how we shouldn't be ashamed to let it out! :) Have a beautiful Monday and glad I came across your blog darling.

I definitely believe that you should use your pain to empower you (sort of talked about that in my latest post). Good quote. It really is ok to feel pain.
