6.07.2011

happy anniversary weekend.

our original plan was to go to disneyland, but with lincoln's summer school schedule that wasn't going to work.

so then we thought about staying in park city for a couple nights, but then lincoln got hired with grand america hotel about a month ago so we decided to use his sweet discount and stay there instead!

even though we were 20 minutes from home, it was still fun to "get away."

we thought and talked a lot this weekend about our first year of marriage and how it is completely crazy that our wedding day was a year ago.
i know it's so cliche to say this, but that day was seriously the best day of our lives.

we rewatched our wedding video and remembered just how fun that day was for us, our families, and our friends.

everything was perfect.  i can't even remember one thing that went wrong.

it was a joy to celebrate that this weekend.

we relaxed and ate a LOT of good food.
the perfect recipe in my opinion.

mostly that husband of mine is the most fun person ever to hang out with.
i especially enjoy listening to him sing along with girls on the radio in the same octave.

here is our weekend:

p.s. this is not beer.  just some yummy cream soda.  :)

gelato!

and of course, we had to eat at lincoln's favorite restaurant.
discovery: p.f. changs is definitely family style.
we barely got through our appetizers.

he's going to be so mad i posted this, but i couldn't resist.  so funny!

and of course we ate some of top tier from our wedding cake.
it was actually still good.

i love funfetti.

i didn't take my camera to the pool, but can i just say lincoln is probably the most entertaining swimmer ever.

i sat poolside laughing my face off.  goof ball.

pictures later of the pool with some stranger man inside:

such a fun weekend.

one year down and an eternity to go.

love my man.

oh!  i almost forgot.  the traditional jumping on the bed photos:

date night.

wow.  what a week.

i'm really excited for a fresh new week.

i got so far behind and disorganized last week that i feel like my life is a wreck.

i plan to do a lot of catching up this week and organizing!

our schedules since we got back from christmas break have been really redundant and quite boring.

lincoln has school and work.

plus, he's playing on 3 basketball teams and 1 football team.

i know, crazy.

and then i'm working and then i have rehearsal 6 days a week, 3 hours a day.

between all of that we haven't had a single day for us to go out on a date.

finally, we got some time on saturday night.

it was just dinner and movie, but it was so fun.

we went to olive garden. mmm... and only paid $15 for our meal.

thank you, work for the gift cards.

i keep thinking that if our lives were recorded we would be a pretty dang funny tv show.

but maybe i would only think it was funny.

if only you were there.  ;)

then we hit up the good ol' dollar theatre and saw Morning Glory.

so funny.

and who doesn't love Rachel McAdams?  she is just so pleasant to watch, don't you think?

and then i tilted my head and smiled awkwardly for you in this picture.

husband looks cute as always.

it's hard taking pictures with him.

what were your fun dates this weekend?

12.06.2010

it's been a year. and it's also been six months.

yesterday was a cool day.

we celebrated being married for half a year!!

and also it was our one year mark of the day we got engaged!

i like that every six months, we will celebrate something.

that's neat.

why don't you go back and read the post about us getting engaged.

it's great.

and i think it's the most comments i've ever received on a post on this blog.

pretty awesome.

i know this might sound cheesy... and i hate saying this as a newlywed because no one takes you seriously, but...

marriage is the best thing ever.

i love that husband of mine so very much.

ever since i met him, my life has gotten exponentially better.

sometimes we disagree and get frustrated with each other and we are far from perfect.

but despite all of that, we are incredibly happy together.

life is so good.

and i'm really glad he asked me to marry him one year ago.

11.08.2010

the simple things.

today was kind of a rough day.

first, it was cold.  miserably cold.
and me and cold don't mix.
i've been perma-cold all day.

and work just wasn't all that great today.

and i read this testimony, and it made me feel really sad.

but then i really thought about today and decided it wasn't that bad.

my mom made me some yummy tomato soup paired with a grilled cheese for lunch.  thanks, mom!
(i transferred locations at work and it happens to be about 1 minute away from my parents, so my mommy makes me lunch every day.  it's the best!)

and then i came home and shortly after lincoln came home from a long day of work.

we had guacamole and chips for dinner paired with a throwback pepsi.
we are classy people.

and then we sat on our bed.  he checked his fantasy football scores and i checked my email.
midge licked our left over guac out of the bowl.

and then i told him how he is my favorite person in the world.  (he really is).
and he told me i was his favorite in the universe.

it was cute.

and then we held hands and finished reading our scores/emails.

it's those simple things in life that make a day like today really really great.

10.15.2010

engaged friends.

last night, lincoln and i were asked to help with a proposal!

this was probably one of the most exciting things ever.

and we felt fairly privileged because we were the only ones who knew about it besides his mom.

we maybe were a little too excited and were running around like weirdos and hoping we wouldn't screw things up.
haha.

so we set it up like we were going to have cafe rio dinner with them in the park.
we acted like we forgot a blanket in the car and let them walk over to where everything was set up.

i had to take pictures, of course.

so we ran our little selves back and hid behind a bush.

we weren't fast enough because all i heard was giggling and a "yes" from lindsey.

but that's the best part anyway, right?

i am kind of surprised i didn't cry.  probably because i was huffing and puffing from the run.
terribly out of shape, i tell you what.

calling their families...

and her GORGEOUS ring!

congrats, lindsey & scott!
we love you!

gosh... i'm just so happy that i might start crying now.
