summer.

i'm so in love with summer right now that it's distracting me from doing anything else.

i realized the other day that this is the first summer in a really long time that i haven't had school.
i always thought summer semester was just fine, but now i'm feeling bad for those in school right now... ahem.. husband.  :(

the temperature has finally gotten high enough to stop wearing sweaters outside and just that one tiny thing feels my heart with the most joy!

i'm just someone who needs warmth... i do NOT do well in winters.

we've been:
driving around the town with the windows rolled down blasting tunes
getting delicious snow cones
going to baseball games
playing at parks
chasing midge around the yard
playing frolf
bbq-ing

and other wonderful summer stuff.

tonight i had the opportunity to meet up with some fellow photogs and hang out for a while.

i feel like i've come a long way with my photography in the last year and i'm so excited for what's to come.

it is my absolute passion!  i think it about it ALL the time.

and summer makes photography even more amazing because my face and hands don't freeze and fall off.

here's a few from tonight... i shot with a film camera for a while and obviously those aren't developed yet, so there's just a few digitals:

what's your favorite thing about summer?

weekend.

friday was ABSOLUTELY beautiful here!

i even got a little sunburned, which was fabulous.

it felt so nice to have some vitamin D.

i had a nice picnic in the park with leah and beck.

and then i had a wonderful photoshoot with this beautiful girl:

more on the photoblog soon.

i was so excited about all the green!!  and the warmness!

and then this happened less than 48 hours later:

the sky needs to make up its mind.

the state fair.

i decided that this needs to be a yearly tradition.

the fair is a lot of fun!

this trip would be a grand total of 2 times that i've been there.
that's sad.

and here are some photos.

yes, we are bushels of fun.
especially lincoln, as you can see from this photo.

i don't know what my husband is doing in this photo.

have you ever been on that ride in the background?

it's called the:

and it's probably the most fun ride ever.

lincoln and i went on it and were laughing the entire ride.

this sign told to:

so we did.

and we ate some yummy corn.
and some other good food that i didn't document.

good by fair.  until next year.

8.03.2010

it helps us stay cool in this weather.

this is what we've been living on for the last few weeks.

otter pops.

every wonder why they are called otter pops?

and don't worry parents... it's not ALL we eat.

for the record, lincoln eats about 5 more than me per day.

love me some brad paisley

I might have to admit...
that I only knew one Brad Paisley song
before attending this concert.

you see,
I'm not opposed to country...
it's just not my first musical genre of choice.

but this concert was definitely awesome.
I think I feel in love with Brad a little.

especially when he sang "Then."
I kinda wanted to cry
because it was just so gosh darn cute.

here's Brad in all his silhouetted glory!

I guess the company wasn't too bad either.

lindsay, scott, yours truly, and lincoln.

we has ourselves some fun.

lincoln sang every song to me with his awesome voice.

he will disagree that it's awesome.

don't believe him.

hot sauce.

it was probably the most perfect way to end summer.

outdoor concert.
gorgeous lightning display at a safe distance.
friends.
laughter.
mmm, me likey.

today it definitely felt like fall.
holy brrrr...

Dangerous Encounter

Today I walked out to my car to go to lunch and a giant bee was guarding my door. I patiently stood there waiting for it to fly away, but I had a feeling it could sense my need to get into my car. You see, I have a pretty severe phobia of bees. I'm not sure why, because I'm not allergic and maybe have only been stung twice in my life. But really. I'm so afraid. Sometimes you can find me on a summer's day running around screaming for what may look like no reason, but it is in fact, because a bee is chasing me. Well, Mr. Bee today would not leave. I thought for a moment that I could maybe swat it away with my giant purse, but decided not to because

a. the bee could get angry and sting me because I swatted him.
or
b. the bee could get caught in my very cute crocheted purse, at which point I would scream and chuck the entire purse as far as my little arms could chuck, possibly damaging my beloved contents in said purse.

So I opted for the obvious (plan c) by walking around the car and climbing through the bee-less passenger side of the car.

Muahahaha! I defeated you, Mr. Bee. Until we meet again.

Summer and friends of summer

It's lovely outside.

I am grateful.

But it also means that the spiders are coming back.

The invasion is about to begin.

I have to get out of this apartment... ASAP!

Oh and p.s. somehow I survived the winter in Logan!

Yay for summer!
