I should really be taking a test online right now, but I would much rather sit here at my desk, listen to The Format, eat cookie dough, and blog. So that's exactly what I'm going to do. Yesterday I learned a lesson about patience. I worked a ten hour shift which consisted mostly of blog stalking people on the internet. It's pretty much the only site besdies KSL that I'm allowed to look at and I believe that is just because they haven't discovered it yet. (I hope I don't get in trouble). When it was a slow as it was yesterday, I would've died without it. I'm glad I had it. In my haste of FINALLY getting out of there after my ten hour long shift, I managed to drop my entire teller drawer on the floor. Now those of you who don't know what that entails I will tell you. Pennies, quarters, nickles, dimes, and dollar coins everywhere. Any stray coin that rolled under something would be devastating. I like to keep my balancing record. Luckily I found everything. Whew. THEN, I managed to add the checks up about 6 extra times than I needed to because SOMEONE wrote a number down wrong...arghhhh... I knew all of this was happening to me BECAUSE I was in a hurry. As I grabbed my backpack to leave after doing all THAT stuff, my binder fell and all the papers went everywhere. Ah! On my drive home I managed to get behind or have to wait for every slow driver in Cache Valley. This is when I said to myself, "Jalene, why do you have to hurry? Just relax." So I did. I've been reading Don't Sweat The Small Stuff by Richard Carlson. It's a really great book. It's taught me a lot about not taking like so seriously all the time. That is how I learned patience yesterday.
Now I would like to dedicate this post to my very best friend, Todd Hooper. Todd is on a mission in Tokyo and has been gone for 19 months TODAY! Over these last 19 months I've learned how wonderful Todd is. He is an absolutely amazing example to me. I couldn't ask for a better best friend. I think he knows me better than anyone else in this world and he makes me happier than I ever thought I could be. I'm so grateful for this opportunity we've had to grow together in a different short of way. I will never forget how much he has blessed my life. He has taught me so much. Even though my roommates and Kristin are probably very sick of me reminding them just how much longer he has I'm going to say it anyways. 19 weeks, 3 transfers, 4 1/2 months, and 135 days! Here you go best friend. I love you.

Wait, you work at a bank? ;) Question: I bet all the slow drivers you got behind sported a nice, shiny Idaho license plate, huh? HUH?
Yay, that's so happy! We all need to be loved like that! I'm glad that despite the stumbling blocks along the way, life is heading in the right direction for you. You're awesome Jalene!
Haha oh man! K I know this post is way older but I loved it and kept nodding throughout the majority of it! I too work as a teller and blog surf/stalk pretty much the majority of my after I finish all my side jobs. The 4 places you will find in my internet history: 971 zht, blogs, youtube, and ksl. It would have been facebook...but sadly they blocked it last summer. :( buuut...I can see why, so fair enough.
And as the best friend on a mish I can feel ya on that one! Mine left the day before my birthday (I know right.) Happy Birthday To Me... So one of my friends and I "chalked" his driveway and one of the things I put was to return the week before so we could actually celebrate my birthday! (haha) It is really fun to see how they progress and change throughout their mission -- and my best friend still has a year left! so it will be fun to see how he continues to change!
